SportInspired helps increase pupils’ activity levels, skills and confidence, through connecting them to local role models, including sports coaches and business volunteers

Children today are not exposed to the true potential that lies in the world around them. We tend to hold back, consumed by everyday responsibilities and unaware of the opportunities that are on our doorsteps. We’re isolated, cautious and often doubt our own communities.

The SportInspired Games programme is devised to bring together the hidden superpowers in our communities. Our inspiring sports festival is the opening chapter which unleashes the superhero in everyone. It connects children with a world of opportunities, which they will continue to enjoy long after the festival is over. Even the least sporty and confident children find a sport they can connect with.

Your children will form a powerful superhero alliance supported by teams of local young leaders and business volunteers to try at least 6 different sports, delivered by local clubs. We ensure a child-focused and fun day, centered around team spirit, ensuring complete inclusivity.

Following on from our inspiring launch, we work together to ensure longevity. This includes a variety of promotional and developmental activities, including new sports clubs, free tasters and fun incentives.
As a result, the children get exposed to opportunities in the world around them week after week. They are more engaged, more confident and more resilient. Each stakeholder can’t help but continue to share their superpowers simply & effortlessly, seeing the continued effects in the children & their community.

Our award winning approach helps schools to build on existing strengths and community assets to help meet and exceed OFSTED targets. In 7 years we’ve helped nearly 350 schools deliver 201 programmes, which we have been able to provide for free with thanks to support from business and local authority partners

From the SportInspired Games, 98% of the children involved find a sport they want to continue, whilst developing teamwork, communication skills and confidence. What’s more, 95% of teachers we work with recommend us to their colleagues and friends.

If you’d like to discuss working with us, whether you’re a primary or secondary school, we'd love to hear from you.

  • SportInspired’s Community Games has been a great initiative for our students. It has provided self belief where there has been self doubt. It has allowed our young people to rise above expectations….(and) enabled the school to revisit student leadership by using a carefully designed project to show every young person that they have the potential to be a leader.

  • My class had an absolutely fantastic time at Pitreavie yesterday. They are still buzzing about it today, and many seem enthusiastic about continuing with some of the sports they tried. Of course, it didn’t hurt that one of our teams won the Team Spirit trophy – we are very proud. There was a really positive atmosphere in the hall thanks to all the adults and student volunteers. My thanks also to you for your part in organising the event.

  • When I did 10 metres I felt great. I felt really happy when I did my 250. Everyone says “Well done” and “That’s great Lewis” and that makes me feel happy. It’s like an achievement of my life. It’s one of the best things I've ever done.

  • You see the kids coming in and some of them are as quiet as anything, withdrawn, and they go out and they are maybe six inches taller than they were when they came in, you know, just on a complete high.

  • SportInspired’s approach has provided the Council with a platform that brings all key stakeholders together and helps us to align our projects and initiatives. In a recent Games programme, 92% of the 900 young people stated they were more likely to take up sport, had improved their team working skills, and had more confidence.

  • Through working with SportInspired, I have gained many local contacts with schools, community clubs and local community. SportInspired has played a key role in helping to lay down a clear pathway to the community that will help further develop and inspire our children. Thames View Junior School has welcomed this with open arms, and so have many other schools in the Borough.

  • The games are great! It gives young people the opportunity to try a number of different sports and that is key. It has really raised the awareness of basketball in the community and has helped our school programmes grow from strength to strength.
