Health UP in LockDOWN Frightened. Anxious. Depressed. These are words we should not hear 9-year olds say but, due to living in areas of high deprivation during a pandemic, this is how children are telling us they feel. Marie Boland, our amazing Partnerships Manager has created this campaign to help people get through Lockdown 2.0 while helping the children we support. We’ve found that many families in deprived communities are struggling to access adequate nutrition and space to exercise. With your help, we can reach more of these communities with our free sports programmes that have been proven to aid mental and physical health. Exercising outside and meeting the Chief Medical Officers exercise guidelines has been proven to increase both physical and mental wellbeing across all age groups. We would love for you to get involved and help us spread this message. All funds raised will enable SportInspired to deliver much needed sporting intervention to children living in deprivation whose physical and mental wellbeing have been hit hard by the pandemic. Hear from Marie about why she started the challenge: Will you help get the UK’s #HealthUPinLockDOWN? Get involved by COMMITTING, SHARING and DONATING: 1. Commit to the NHS recommended 150 minutes of moderate (or 75 mins of vigorous) exercise for at least one week. 2. Share photos of your activity using #HealthUPinLockDOWN, nominate and tag 4 friends.3. Donate £5 to SportInspired, to raise funds to help reach children in disadvantaged communities. Are you inspired? Go beyond your £5 donation and set up a fundraising page at SportInspired Fundraising.Use this to challenge your friends or colleagues to get more active.
