Throughout July, Tom set himself a challenge - to walk and run the equivalent of 19 marathons (500 miles) in one month!

Like many, he found Covid-19 and the lockdown difficult but took to sport and exercise as an outlet. 2020 didn't go to plan and has been a challenging year for many, so Tom wanted to set his own challenge to ensure 2021 is better by fundraising for SportInspired.

78% of parents reported a decrease in their children's social, mental, and physical wellbeing in the absence of sport during Covid19. Tom wanted to ensure that as many young people as possible can access sport and engage with their local community in response to the pandemic.

He had a lot of very early starts, running and walking all over Luton. He kicked off week 1 strong with 112 miles, by week 2 completed 254 miles, reached an impressive 369 miles in week 3, and ran the remaining 131 miles in the final 9 days.

Tom attended Aston University with friend Richard Raynes, CEO & Founder of SportInspired, and has been heavily involved since, helping to set up the first-ever community games in Luton. Rich joined Tom in Luton for his final day of running and they celebrated by swimming in the river.
