For the first time ever SportInspired obtained five places in a challenge event – the Hackney Half Marathon!

The half marathon took place on Sunday 19th May 2019 in Hackney, where SportInspired’s journey first began over 10 years ago.

About The Fundraisers:

Pete

Pete loves SportInspired. He says they give young people of all ages the chance to get active, play sport and be sociable with people their own age, often in places where the resources are really needed.

Tom

Tom got involved with SportInspired a few years ago and was proud to play a part in setting up the first community games in Luton! Sport played a big part in Tom’s development as a young person and he was excited to take part in the Hackney Half to support legacy projects that would give young people access to the benefits sport brings.

George

Having worked at SportInspired for over three years, George has experienced first-hand how sport is an unbelievable vehicle for people from all walks of life to feel good about themselves, be healthy and support others.

Louise

Two things Louise cares a lot about is young people and sport. Louise wanted to do the Hackney half to help support SportInspired and raise awareness so the charity can reach out to more children, young people and communities that need it.

Edd

Since working at SportInspired, Edd has been blown away by the positive effect sport can have on a child. He wanted to do the Hackney Half to raise money so SportInspired can continue to bring communities together and positively influence the lives of young people.

In total our five incredible fundraisers managed to raise a fantastic £1455!! This money will go towards supporting children and young people across the UK to benefit from a healthy lifestyle by having access to grassroots sport.

A huge thank you to our brilliant Hackney Half runners who all did an amazing job!
