The London Lions Inspire at the Tower Hamlets Community Games! On February 13th 2019, SportInspired held its Tower Hamlets Community Games at the impressive Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Over 240 primary school children, 50 young leaders and 30 volunteers came together for a day devoted to encouraging physical activity. The primary school children were able to try out six different sports and showcase their team spirit by producing banners to cheer on teammates. The Young Leaders were able to build leadership and communication skills whilst supporting these children The day was made even more exciting when the children were given the opportunity to meet and chat with London’s professional basketball team, The London Lions. The Lions compete in the British Basketball League, the top tier championship of British Basketball and inspired the children to "stay active and eat their fruit and vegetables" when the children asked what they had to do to become just like them. Both the children and Young Leaders came away from the festival inspired to stay active and reach their full potential!
