FitFun

Covid-19 has struck millions of people who are adjusting to a new “normal”, living in lockdown, concerned for family, friends and themselves. Life is strained, even for those of us with the resource to make the changes comfortable; adjusting is taking its toll.

For those living in the UK’s most deprived communities, their already challenging circumstances just got propelled into a much bleaker space. Teachers we work with are telling us that they just don’t know how to support the children who are at school or at home during this time and that they themselves are struggling to cope. It is the wellbeing of these children and young people, SportInspired’s core beneficiaries, who are at the heart of our Covid-19 response.

Introducing FitFun - SportInspired's brand new FREE activity toolkit!

It's more important than ever that we keep moving, stay healthy and positive during this challenging time.

SportInspired have developed a range of innovative resources to help children and young people enjoy the benefits of physical activity during this crisis. FitFun is a toolkit for key worker and vulnerable children remaining in schools as well as children and families staying indoors.

"Honestly the children loved it, they still keep talking about it and asking when is it happening again. Some of the boys that attended have real behaviour issues and I’ve never seen them 1 so excited but 2 listen so well to instructions."

Sinead Devlin P.E Coordinator, Manorfield Primary School.

  • "What's the point of riding up a mountain that it'd be quicker to go up by foot?"

here exists in Asturias, Northern Spain, in the middle of the Sierra del Aramo, a mountain whose road is barely marked on maps because it is a cattle road that was only recently paved. It is called Alto de l'Angliru, and has been used 8 times in La Vuelta (the Grand Cycling Tour of Spain) prompting Marzio Bruseghin, the Italian Rider to say "What's the point of riding up a mountain that it'd be quicker to go up on foot" Well, for Sportinspired of course, and Neale will be doing it in May!
